yeah they use salt by the ton but they mix it with sand here and now they are using a cemical of some kind to melt the ice and it dries the road real nice. If you don't was your car / truck often and get the underside they won't last long..Mine is 20 years old and just did rockers and cab corners. but its in the garage not out in the weather all night ..I use it every day as there is 250k on it. Those rotors are not cheap as they have the ABS counters on them, I took them to the parts store and turned them they cleaned up OK so I'll be putting them back on and see what happens..I think he brg race was pressed in wrong.
