    Not sure about Charlies area, but, salting the roads is common during snow events here in New England and most northern states.

    It's a lot better now than it was in the 70's.. back then a car that was new in the 70's had a body that would go 5 or 6 years before rust started busting out. Chryslers seemed to be the worst imho! The older cars, 60's / 50's seemed to last into the 70's before the body busted out with rust.
