I was away most of yesterday and into the night, so I did not see the two pages of replies to Whip's post, and I missed most of the initial reporting on the tragedy in Connecticut. It seems to me that if the replies to a post are deemed "unacceptable" or "improper", then it only makes sense that the original post is "improper" and should be deleted, too. It does not seem fair to me to say that a position statement, or in this case a series of position questions, i.e. "How can you....." is OK, but responses to those questions are not. If we're going to have censorship then censor the thread, leave the title, and replace post #1 with what has now become post #2 written in the attention grabbing red bold text and delete all other posts. Then lock the thread, declaring the topic disallowed. And for the record, I'm not saying that Whip was wrong to post his questions & feelings, but I also don't see the need for the topic to be debated here. Just my $0.02.

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

It has nothing to do with censorship and everything to do with common sense. The original post above, while bordering on one of a strictly religious tone, was done out of sheer grief and outrage as to the event that occurred in CT yesterday, Where I drew the line (as 75% of the other moderators on the sites I am a member of) was making the thread into a pro/against gun control topic, using (yes using because those both for and opposed to gun control can be self centered zealots at times) this horrible event as fuel for their fires.

Again, this is about the deaths that occurred, nothing more, nothing less. You want the thread locked, so be it. But be warned, per the terms of use you have all agreed to when you signed up for an account on these forums (better check all of the others you belong to as well), there will be no discussion of religion and or gun control here.

    gunforum.com

are available to those of you that want to argue about such things. This is CHR, the main topic here is cars........
