I have revolved from the higher memory chips to the 4 gb--can take around 700+ 800 pics and I just write the starting /ending dates on the chip and after downloading to computer and usb sticks for the electronic photo in the kitchen, put them in my drawer!!!!!!I liked the 8gb, but mine uses compact flash chips and 4gb are available most economical on line--buy 10 at a time------
I got it from Costco, delivered to the house. I saw it on-line while in CR after two guys there had them. A buddy has the same lens, and the other guy had a much more expensive 18-200 with constant aperture (about a $1200 lens). I shopped around, and just couldn't get anywhere near their price by splitting it up into body and lens, even pricing reconditioned components, plus the camera bag is a pretty good bonus, too. Now I've just got to learn how to use it!!
