simple , you dont vote you cant bitch and your opinion doesn't count. the ones who dont vote are pretty much the ones with their hand out. if you think obama is doing a great job vote for him. if not vote for romney. but constantly complaining about the system does nothing. i have more faith in my country than you and refuse to just throw my hands up and give up.

10 years from now we will still be hearing how bush did it and ron paul got robbed .

Well said, Shine. The defeatist attitudes are our worst enemy, and the "whole system's broke and doesn't work anymore" is simply hogwash. The system works just fine, but every ship has to have a captain that the crew respects, trusts, and that has vision to know which way to steer the ship. I don't get caught up in the election hooplah, and I agree 100% with your approach about how to apply your vote. The worst thing is to throw up one's hands and say, "It doesn't really matter." I'm sorry, but my future, and more important the future for my grandchildren matters very much, and we are currently a ship without a rudder, much less a respected captain to grab the tiller.

The Democrat convention hasn't even started and the same old "Bush caused it" BS is already coming at us in stinking, steaming, shovel-fulls.

All weekend we have heard an endless procession of DNC big shots singing the same tired old song and the goat is always George Bush.

Shine and I have both been constituents of George W. Bush for a long time, first as Governor and then as President.

Some contributors here (and I honestly appreciate them because our differences of opinion do keep this thread interesting) squawk about the blaming, finger pointing, and occasionally what might be called "name calling" aimed at President Obama.

Well, let me tell you. Since George Bush arrived in Washington he has been portrayed as a bumbling fool or a jackass or the village idiot, or worse. The whole time he remained above it all, refusing to lower himself to the level of those making the noise.

George Bush is a fine man, unlike, say, Al Gore who was, and remains, as lost as a goose. Or William Jefferson Clinton, who had sense enough to move to the center thereby salvaging a fairly acceptable presidency...... but, that said, he was still the poorest excuse for a man to ever hold the office.

The main things I can fault President Bush for are (1) Failure to seal the border, and (2) he didn't use his veto pen NEARLY as often as I wish he had.

I think I'd enjoy having a beer with President Bush (but I know he couldn't do that) but not with those other two guys.

    Jim
