Yeah Meller,
My folks were from Texas, one from Fort Worth and the other from up by Littlefield in the panhandle area, and we always had blackeyed peas on New Years Day - no cabbage though. Mom would start a pot of dried peas in the morning and let them simmer all day with a ham hock, and it was cornbread & peas for dinner. Good stuff, but we have not maintained the tradition.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
