I never knew peas to be "gassy" like beans, but it may be an invidual reaction thing.

Here's a tip from my hillbilly wife,when ever you make a pot of beans or black-eyed peas put a big carrot in them before the beans are served, throw away the carrot! It will absorb the stuff that causes the gas,what ever you do don't eat the carrot or you will have gas like you won't believe and you'll be made to sleep outside.
