Things have changed a lot in the last 20 years. In the past I'd always buy a cheap PC with year old specs. About 4 months ago I splurged for the 1st time on my new PC, and I'm so glad I did. Never had this kind of speed before. Running (2) 256 GB solid state drives in a raid 0 configuration for programs, 1.5 TB regular "spinning" hard drive for file storage, and an intel i7 CPU, water cooled and over clocked to 5 Ghz. Life is good.
