Dave I totally know what you mean. We get horrible moms on drugs having kids at work, and they come back year after year having more, that get fostered out. It is very rare to get someone to rise above that lifestyle.

Time to bring this up to the top of the pile again....Dave,,what is the latest on these two charming little grand daughters of yours?Things going well for you all up there?? Bet they have settled in now, well and truly,,and have grandad wrapped around their little fingers....:D I bet Pepper's wondering why it took so long to get little kids who drop food on the floor too... Hope its all good...
Gee, Robin, figured you guys were tired of hearing about my 'baby girls' by now!! Both Lisha and Lexi are progressing quite well, some people say that they're almost as spoiled as my dog, but I have no idea where they'd ever get an idea like that!!!!:LOL::LOL:
Lexi is now back to the correct size for others her age, and is very busy being a typical 2 year old!!!! Lisha still absolutely loves school, and has visits with a counselor twice a week to help her deal with things from her time with her mother. Both have made excellent progress since last July, they're nothing like the two scared little girls we brought home!!! I know all the prayers and positive thoughts directed their way have helped immensely, along with all the love and attention they receive around here. The folks who own the C-Store next door to us, Ken and Chris, are also helping with spoiling the girls and hand out suckers to them whenever they go in the store. Chris keeps insisting that Jackie and I should take off for a weekend and she could keep the girls for us!!!!:LOL: I'll be sure to get some pictures of them one of these first days and post them, you guys will hardly recognize them anymore!!!!
Thank you all again for all your prayers for the girls, not a doubt in my mind that you have all been instrumental in helping the girls recover!!!
Dave I`m so glad your girls are doing well, its a bad thing when a family goes south, its always the kids that suffer, I`m am sure they are spoiled now with love and attention.
Gave me a smile when I truely needed one. I'll bet they'll love the lake. :)
I can't imagine whats going through your thoughts, but I understand. Having 4 granddaughters I can imagine. But you got it you'll be in our prayers
I for one will never tire of hearing about these precious little girls! I think we all expect to be invited to their high school graduations!!
Blessings on you, Dave - you were and continue to be God's hand touching these girls!
Glenn
No,Dave..We wont get tired of your little girls..Its good to see them adjusting to a normal life, which is what any child should have..We are just so pleased to have a part,no matter how small,in seeing these two grow up,from the poor haunted looking littlegirls they were..I gotta say, that I'm shocked to hear Lisha still needs a counsellor,though..Poor kid must have been really upset..Hey,you and grandma are doing an awesome job, hope one day to meet all of you..:cool:
Yes Dave school graduation would be cool to be invited to....I'm holding out for there weddings.. Wish I could see you whan the first guy shows up at the door :HMMM::LOL::LOL: Enjoy them there only this age a short time
How time flies!!!! Our little Lexi survived her ordeal quite well, and today she is 5 years old (going on 15!) Truly my miracle grandchild!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LEXI!!!!!!!!!!
Dave, What wonderful news! I have not visited CHR for quite a long time. What a great way to be reminded that I need to visit more often. Hope you are well too.
Pat

Wow, 5 years old, Lexi you are growing up too quick for us old Grandpa's from around the world. I pray you have a lovely day young lady. Do you start school soon ? Here in NZ we have to start when we reach 5 Years old but most have gone to pre-school or Kindy before hand so it isn't such a shock and great change to ones life . Have an excellent day.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY LEXI :-) :-)
Hoping Your Day Is Happy As Can Be !! :-)
Good news, Happy Birthday Lexi!
Great job Dave!
I also need to get on here more often.
Merry Christmas all.
Happy Birthday,Lexi,,from New Zealand.. Hope it was a great day...
A belated Happy Birthday, Lexi, hope you had a nice day.
.
Lexi dear........a little personal advice based on YEEEEAAAAARRRRSSSS of experience: Don't let grandpa try to get away with that ol' trick of "here's one really nice gift for both your birthday and Christmas..."
;)
Thanks guys! We had a great birthday party! Lexi is definitely Grandpa's girl, she asked last night if I thought we should start building her race car soon!!!! Her and Lisha have already laid claim to my pickup, the toter, the trailer, and now the 'Maro----Lexi wants it painted purple and pink!!! When these two get just a few years older I'll probably have to start asking for donations just to afford all their toys.....:LOL::LOL::LOL:
Dave, I for sure don't post very often, but this moved my inner soul so much. In the early years the community that this crime was committed in would be allowed to handle this on their own. Good thing he was locked up. My prayers are with you and your family. Edward.
Thanks Edward....I tried to schedule a "visit" with the dude, unfortunately he was being held without bail... He has a long time left to go on his sentence and I'm quite sure his life in prison as a child abuser probably isn't that pleasant...
As this thread slowly fades back into the history on CHR, I again want to thank all of you who have and continue to show so much love and support to these 2 very special girls. Seems almost a lifetime ago that we rescued these two scared and broken little girls. I've had the distinct privilege of being here daily to watch them grow, learn, and slowly come out of the shell that abuse built around them and began to develop as normal, loved and loving children. Granted, I had to make countless "adjustments" to things I had planned for my retirement but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!
Should you ever see or hear of other children in the same situation that Lexi and Lisha were in I implore you to get involved, and do everything you can to stop it! There are thousands of children everyday who suffer far worse abuse then these two did, and many of them slide through the cracks and wind up dead because someone was reluctant to get involved! Don't back off!! Saving our children is our last best hope for a future with any good in it! Thank you all very much, your support still continues to be invaluable.
Well said Dave – Just as I believe there is a place reserved below for those who harm the precious and most times defenseless children among us I too believe that God will bless you and your wife now and eternally for what you’ve done on behalf of these little girls. Every time I read this thread I tear up – yup great big always rough & ready on the outside but this story melts me as I think of my own precious grand kids and thank God for the parents they have.
I have so much respect for you and your wife. You are certainly living your faith and demonstrating God's love. I’ll continue to pray for God’s care and blessings for you all – especially during this wonderful holiday season.
Glenn
His work is done in perfect timing! I believe the whole reason for us being on earth is to learn just that. Now that the situation is in good order one can look back through the whole process and see where he was at every step of the recovery procss. Even where he was going to eventually take your girls. ;) I also think they have the Lords attention and the road to a wonderful life of learning and understanding is ahead of them.
My son was healed of severe epilepsy at age 6 after a tormented life up to that point. Today at 28 he is a wonderful God filled man and is a shinning example of everything that is good in life. These to girls of YOUR'S are on the same path to excellence and it was all set in motion by your love and understanding that prayer makes all the difference. May God keep them close and true! Thanks for this thread and your faith my friend. My prayer is for you. May you appreciate and rejoice in his perfect work every moment of every day. He is worthy!
Glenn, Bob, Bob and Bob and Dave, thank you so much for summing up how I and I certained all the CHR family here feel . Dave, you and your lovely wife have set an excellent example of Love for family we all need to stop and reflect on when our busy lifes are allowed to get ahead of what really matters, Love of Family and love of your Neighbour as Jesus instructed us to have when He did away with the Law of Moses.Again thanks...
------Thanks------
Nothing that the majority of others on here wouldn't have done.
