Dave it's great to hear the girls are doing good. As you said, that's what grandparents are for. Enjoy your time with them it's precious.
"..... a well equipped sandbox in the backyard!!!! ......"
If you're grandaughters are like mine, getting them ut of the sand box is the real challenge....give them a cup to make castles out of and they could live there. I've got to admit I get a chuckle when my grandaughter hugs Grandma after she has been making sand angels.
Thats very good to hear Dave.
Thanks, I'll pass on some extra hugs for the girls today from all their online friends!!!!!
Glad to here the girls are adjusting well to their new life. Dave, it's great to see good people doing good things. You know what you and your wife are doing is going way way beyond just your family. A lot of people are seeing this and maybe going out & doing a good thing themselves. Makes me feel good every time I visit this thread.

I couldn't have said it any better, Pro70z28
It is so great that your family has been able to give your Granddaughters the kind of life they should have had all along. There is a special place in heaven for folks like you. :)

Dave,
I've been somewhat out of touch, and didn't see this thread until today. I'm so glad that these little girls now have a solid future. Good work, sir!
I'm glad to hear that things are going well, Dave. I think of this often.
Good job taking care of those girls. How far does your son live from you?
Grandpa and Grandma still need their time you know.
Thanks gang, only doing for the girls what everybody else on here would do for their grandkids!!!!
Here's a couple pics for you.... Lisha and Lexi with Jess, their most favorite babysitter doing some construction work in the sandbox.
The other picture is of Pepper after the girls got done making him comfortable for one of his many daily naps!!!!!
they look so much happier than when they first arrived. you and your family are doing a excellent job.
Dave that brings a smile to my face. Enjoy the holiday.
Dave, I don't know how I missed this but it sure sounds like you guys are doing a good job!
our prayers will be with you and those 2 angels, Good Luck!
Ken
Beautiful girls, Dave, all three of them!
The sitter....... I don't suppose she happens to like boys who are pretty close to eighty, does she?
Jim
Oh YES YES that's what I mean - - - - thank you so much for posting the Pics, Dave. It warms my heart to see those happy faces and that cast gone along with the ^%$^%$@$#'S autograph. I'm sorry I said that, God Forgive Me ! Pepper may just be soaking this for everything he/she can get - - - don't blame him a bit. God Bless Y'all !
meller
Yes poor Pepper looks so worn out keeping up with those two angels, thanks Dave for the updates.Whip.
Hey Dave that is a great picture of the girls and Pepper.
It's funny how little kids and dogs can give so much love to people and then some people think it's alright to abuse them.
I am glad all of you have each other to love. God Bless.
Kurt
Hey Dave, I've emailed you but haven't had a reply yet so, being that I'm old and impatient, I was wondering how things are going in Y'alls world????? Can you bring us up to date on the Girls and Y'all????? Inquiring OF's want to know.
God Bless,
Em and Sher
Sorry Em, guess I haven't checked my email in awhile...
Anyway, girls are doing very well. Lisha still loves school, she's disappointed on days she doesn't get to go! She's made many friends and is having a lot fun. They go to the park or some other "field trip" at least once a week, visiting the Fire Station was her favorite! Best part of her recovery, it's been better then a month since she's had one of her nightmares! Lexi, maybe because she's younger, seems to be doing even better getting over the ordeal. She loves to "help" do things around the house, right now she's helping Grandma with some laundry! Lucky Grandma, huh? She thinks of herself as a gymnast of some sort and wants to climb on everything! Amazing the way she has changed from a timid, scared little girl to the fun loving, energetic and playful little girl she is now. She has this silly little grin that I call her "warning grin"---It means I'm going to do something I shouldn't and you're not going to like it!!!! Then she does it anyway! When we tell her no, she runs to us laughing with her arms open to give some hugs....and then we're supposed to scold her???? She doesn't have everyone fooled, but she sure has Grandpa wrapped around her little finger!!!!
They did have their first State Supervised visitation with their mother and got through that very well... Prior to the visit, we told Lisha about it, her only concern was that she was coming home to "Grandma's House" afterwards and would be safe!!!! She asked about it 3 or 4 times, guess she had to make sure! The visitation was only 2 hours and there was a state rep. in the room at all times, for the most part Lexi treated it as just another play room with lots of different toys and didn't really care if her mom was there or not... Lisha was polite, sat with her mom and played a little. Both were very glad to get back home afterwards as I'm sure it's the only safety and security they've known. Neither had anything to say about it the next day, just went back to their usual routine.
What an amazing change in the two of them since we brought them home! They still have lots of healing to do, but they're going to get through it just fine!!!
Thanks everyone for your prayers and concern.
Thanks for the reply, Dave (er uh Grandpa) - - - all my prayers have been answered, Praise the Lord, and it appears that He's watching over Y'all every minute. I know it sounds weird but I pray for their Mom also and that she will grow Spiritually and "never" do anything to hurt these girls again. Maybe someday Lisha and Lexi can actually be proud of her and learn to love her in their own ways - -- - time and faith are wonderful healers and life can be a wonderful teacher !
L8tr Friend,
Em
that is great news dave. keep up the good work.
Thanks for the update. Sweet little kids deserve happiness, and you guys are giving a great new chance at that!
Awesome news,Grandpa Dave..We are all so pleased that those kids have a much better place to live and grow..Prayers are still goin out,,and its a good idea to keep praying for their mother,,she needs as much help as her girls..
Like everyone else, I too am so happy to hear of the progress with the girls! Also like Em, I pray for mom as God's touch is what she needs to get her life in order and we all know God's in the miracle business!
Blessings on you and the misses Dave - as my tears came in your sorrow and time of great trial, so my heart rejoices with you for all this good news. You, sir have earned a few jewels for the eternal crown!
My greatest respect and warmest regards to "all" your family!
Glenn
I, too, am happy to hear that things are going so well. There is not a day goes by that I don't think of you folks and those babies.
I am glad it's working out for you guys, I'll prey for all of you.
Though I don't have much faith in a leopard changing it's spots.
Abusers usally stay abusers and I don't think we should take
chances when it comes to children.
Kurt
Dave,
Thanks for the update. It's a great thing you and grandma are doing and am so glad everything is working out so well. I (we) all love hearing the updates and please keep them up when you can.:D:D
Jack.
Merry Christmas dave, how about an update on the girls, maybe a Thanksgiving pic or two. thank you, oj
So sorry you are going through this ordeal:(
Thank goodness those kids have you to count on.
Thanks for the concern!!! The girls are progressing quite well!!!! Both are a bit behind their peers in development but they both have excellent teachers and counselors to help them get caught up. Lisha is still participating in a Head Start program 4 days a week (she love's it), and Lexi has a lady who spends a couple hours with her two days a week.
Both girls are still gaining a bit of weight, we still have to watch their diet and follow the Doctor's advise so they will continue to gain strength. Lexi is younger and seems to have forgotten most of the bad stuff, Lisha still has some issues, but is improving all the time. At least no more nightmares for her!!!!
I'll have to get some more recent pictures of them and post them up!
Again, thank you all for your concern and your prayers!
glad to hear things are going good. please post pictures soon. you know how we all love love pictures around here.
Good to hear Dave.
Good to hear Dave. So whos' looking forward to Christmas most, the girls or Grandma and Grandpa?
God Bless you and your wife Dave. Really glad to hear the kids are getting the love and care they need. In as much as I have a concern for lost souls too, how is their mom doing?
Have a Merry Christmas all of you. :)
Pat
Well, their Mom has came once for a state supervised visitation with the girls for 2 hours. At first she would call and talk to Jackie telling her a bunch of lies and sob stories....Now she hasn't even called the girls in a couple weeks....
I don't know, Pat... I know it's not right for me to think this way, but I doubt she will ever change, don't think she wants to!
