deer rifle part 2
Well back around January I posted a thread about buying a .45-70 lever gun for deer and elk. Since then I've actually gone deer hunting, borrowed friends 7mm mag, and got my first deer at about 320 yards. I realize now that these longer shots are going to require a straighter firing round than the .45-70 , so I'm now looking at a 300 win mag savage rifle with an accu trigger and a accu stock. I know the 300 win mag is overkill for a deer, but some of the shots around here are upwards of 4-500 yrds. And I would also like to eventually go elk hunting and wild boar. Anyway any of you have a savage or other 300 win mag? How do you like them? Thanks." "No matter where you go, there you are!" Steve.
