You can also try MalwareBytes, its another free program that does a really good job of finding malware and bots on a computer.

You can get it at http://malwarebytes.org

go to trendmicro.com it is free. sounds more like you might have a trojan or a worm than spyware. Trendmicro is the best that i have found on the web and does a complete search. if it does not allow it to run you might have the internet antivirus program. it is not what it says it is and takes control of anitvirus programs and directs your explorerer to go where it wants. if this is the case go to programs- accessories- system tools-system restore. use a restore point that was before this problem showed up. than after the reboot update and do a scan with your anti-virus.

The malware and virus problem has become such a big problem that sometimes the only good solution is to replace the hard drive, reload your operating system and start over.

Short of that, try saving your necessary work, and use your system software that came with the computer to reformat the existing hard drive. That way your system drivers should be automatically restored and you can start over. Remember to save the important things to a 4 - 8 gb flash drive or dvd-r, like pictures, special documents, and finance records, etc. before you reformat. Otherwise it will all be lost. I had to do that a few years ago to one of my computers, after my daughter downloaded every virus known to man.

There are some nasty virus and malware products even the pro's have a bitch of a time removing. You could spend a small fortune on software virus and malware eradicators and still not have your computer get well.

Try all of the cheap methods first, maybe you will get lucky.

A good friend will come and bail you out of jail....but a true friend will be sitting next to you saying..."Damn....that was fun!
