I got used to substandard parts when my Son was playing with VW's years ago. All the repopped parts came from places like Brazil and were cheap copies of the originals. Nothing fit right, were made of thin steel, and had flash chrome plating that chipped off quickly. I always said that the parts we bought for hot rods were of much better quality and fit for the purpose they were intended. But that has been slowly changing to the point that all the major suppliers are supplying this junk.

It is also hard to "Buy American" anymore, even if you want to because major companies are outsourcing parts from other countries. No wonder 250,000 Americans have lost their jobs since January 1st. (heard that figure on the news the other day )
