a great friend and a great man has passed away .. cecil was the owner of the salvage yard i got my first job at and bought numerous hot rods from .. my 69 428 r code mustang .. my 69 440 sixpack super bee,.. my first couple of pinto`s .. my bogus boss 302 comet that i took a trip thru a big ditch in when i forgot to put the nut on the steering wheel and wound up in the back seat ..most of my friends who have long ago passed away also worked there from time to time .. my best friend Eddie .. a good friend Al ,, and Jerry moore .. i was already a car nut and getting a job at a junkyard in the mid 70`s was a dream come true .. the first oil embargo was hitting and muscle cars were dirt cheap and me and friends wore out a ton of them .. we didn`t have to worry about gas as we drained every wreck that came into the yard ..cecil encouraged us every bit of the way even though he was`nt so much a car guy at the time .. he just was amused at us kids .. he later became quite a car guy and will leave an imaculate 67 427 vette to his only grandson who is about 18 years old .. he will be missed as has all my friends who have gone before
iv`e used up all my sick days at work .. can i call in dead ?

Nice 40 Chevy Hoss429. Here it is Sunday morning in middle Tennessee. What great weather to get the hot rod out for a drive. I'm still shaking down the 37 Chevy for my wife. Maybe we can get it out today for a spin. But I will get my 40 Chevy out today.
It's easy..Just ask someone that hasn't ever done it!
    See ya on the road.

somewhere on here a fellow asked about building a bogus boss and i said i would post of the one i built back in the late 70`s .. i cant find that thread so i will put it here ..
this engine sounds like one of johnny cash,s song if you have ever heard (one piece at a time) the song where over about a thirty year period he brings home a cadilac car one piece at a time in his lunch box and put it together in his garage. when he finally got it going the liscence dept ask him what model it was he said ( its a 49-50-51 -52 -53 etc.etc the bogus boss was a 70 302 block 66 289 steel crank & rods - 73 351 cleveland open chamber heads. 70 351 c flat top pistons . that i had to cut the skirts to clear the crank throw. the pistons stuck out of the block about .050 but it didnt matter with the open heads. 318 dodge pushrods, big block chevy rocker studs, cleveland guide plates. 455 pontiac rockers, olds 455 valve springs which i still put those on ford engines i build , they have one less coil and fit easy with a shim .to the same spring height. the motor would scream if you hit it above 2500 rpm.

Come on guys, take a guess.

To make it interesting I'll send (within the USA, excluding Hawaii and Alaska) or deliver to the first person that comes up with the right answer a Quart of my Pure Maple Syrup.
