I couldn't agree more. If some Genie offered me a deal where I could start all over again I would have to pass it up. We who grew up in the '50's and '60's probably saw the best times that any generation had available to them. Not to wax nostalgic, but when I see kids shooting kids, parents who don't know how or are afraid to disipline their kids, crime that is out of control, etc. I am so happy I knew a different time for most of my life.

We certainly weren't perfect, there was racial bias, sex bias, etc. But for the most part we knew and cared about our fellow man and had good, solid values. I grew up knowing I would be in trouble if I did wrong, and I tried to raise my Kids the same way. Yep, I spanked their butts on more than one occasion..........didn't beat them, but enough to let them know they did wrong.

Now I see all this political correctness, and things like "time out" and feel this is why school yard today look like armed camps.........high chainlink fences, armed guards, and good kids who are afraid of the not so good ones who carry weapons to school. We have even made it so that a caring parent is afraid to be strong with their child for fear they might end up in trouble themselves.

NOPE, GIVE ME THE OLD DAYS FOR SURE.
