Or I could add some 28” wheels, raise it 8”, and make it a donk! Lol! Nah; budget on this one calls for a basic stocker.

If you wanted to add a few highlights to the blue base, here's a popular style ;)

Not sure that the Mystery Machine logo is a good fit for a window van? The vans with all of the windows are more "people mover's", as JB calls them down south, used for touring around so everyone can see, or for picking up groups of folks, like a Church van? Maybe a nice logo, like a Lighthouse, with rays of light reaching out, and something like "Falcon's Home For Wayward Girls" in a nice script style font?
It would be easy to cover the windows with a perforated vinyl decal. You can still see out of the window but your design/logo can be printed on a piece of vinyl to suit your needs. Then you'd have a little more security and a cool look.
.
That's a very good point Ryan! They've done exactly that on the public transportation buses around here, with fancy graphics for the Royals, Chief's or special groups. The people inside have pretty much unrestricted view through the pinholes, and the added bonus is that the interior runs much, much cooler with most of the radiant energy of the sunshine reflected.
Now for a trip around the whole thing with some wet 400 and she’s ready for color
Are you sure you got it all, that's a lot of metal, a guy could easily miss a spot you know !
Aw man; don’t freak me out!
I would just smile and nod while continuing the assembly. :)
An old story for you Seth. Many moons ago in the sprint car days, we had two different motors as we ran at a couple different tracks with different cubic inch limits.... Late, late, late one Thursday night (Friday morning) getting ready for a 3 day race weekend I had checked bearings in both engines and had both back together and on the stands....one of my "friends" laid an extra rod cap on my bench, then of course pointed it out to everyone still there! He let the deal continue until I was just getting ready to pull the first pan and see which engine I had screwed up!!! Aren't friends great?????
Now that's funny! :D
Thank you, Jesus! Sanding is done and I put the sealer in the drip rails today. My buddy Kyle is going to shoot the color for me next week.
Tire needs air.
Looks good otherwise
I think the primer needs to cover the whole tire, will help plug leaks! :) Seriously very nice job! Must feel good to be done!
Needs tread, too!
Looks nice. That low tire is for extra work out time for Mike.
It does keep it from coasting too far when you push it.
So glad to get to this point
I dub it the "Bluesmobile" Mystery Machine
Some assembly required
congratulations, it looks good. Reassembly is the fun part.
I've seen shops with dedicated paint booths which don't lay paint that smooth.
Thanks! He’s great with a gun and doing the slick sand really made those long sides straight. But...the tire is still flat and now it’s covered with blue paint.
Pump it up, another layer of paint should have plugged the hole! ;)
Looks great!
Yeah, this is the part where the shop starts getting bigger again as the pieces start coming out of the space they've been occupying and go on to the van.
.
The Bluesmobile! On a mission from God... just need a huge megaphone on the roof.. Lookin' good!!!
Well, doesn’t EXACTLY look like a 74 Dodge Monaco police car but close enough.
We got cop tires, cop suspension a full tank of gas.......8-)
That looks like a mirror! Very nice!
Thanks! I’m pretty happy with it. I think it looks darn good for budget priced single stage enamel.
Are you still trying to make power tour with it?
Single stage enamel you say!?!?!? Pretty shiny from the get go!
Yep; $119 a gallon TCP Global enamel. This is the third car I’ve used it on and it look and holds up good. I really wanted to make the Power Tour but it’s not going to be done in time.
Hopefully I can do a test fire on the motor this coming weekend.
Do it, Dave! I did it last year and it was a blast; wish i was going again this year but I am going to find some closer weekend-long shows. There's one in Springfield Ill in either August or September that goes from Friday night to Sunday afternoon and is supposed to be really good.
