I'd say he stuck to his original plan pretty close so far. Only difference is that he's fixing the rust all at once instead of a little at a time.

Yeah; when it’s as bad as this thing turned out to be; the only thing that makes sense is fix it all at once. Sure didn’t want to tear it down twice.
I'm just teasing him! His work is awesome. I was emphasizing the "pretty minimal part" ;) For some of us that would be use a rubbing compound, buff and wax....done! Falcon has a higher set of standards...that's a goooood thing!
Compared to my 10 year Plymouth project, it IS pretty minimal! Lol!
I've started many a project with the idea in mind that the work will be minimal.....never turns out that way for me!!!!! lol
I've discovered that projects have to sit and be ignored for awhile just so they get "seasoned" properly! That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!!!!
I hear you, Dave. My wife says it’s vehicular ADD but I like your explication better.
Got another section cleaned up and primed.
It's looking great! Keep at it, you'll be putting that 5.7 Hemi in next.
Who needs a hemi when you’ve got 90hp worth of pavement melting 6cylinder?
One more side to go
You are knocking this out quite fast!
Thanks guys; all you have to do is spend every waking minute working on it.
Nice work! I can send some little people down to slow you down if you like?
Send 'em down when I start blocking the outside of this thing! My old rotator cuff gets to throbbing pretty good after all that sanding.
I was full on Mr Miagi today; “Daniel-San, sand the floor!” Finished spraying the sealer on the walls, sanded the ceiling, sanded the floor, epoxy primered the floor and the jambs, and painted the inside of the front doors. I’m beat like a dog.
WOW Ryan-san very good work, now one leg stork pose for one hour to reflect on accomplishments! ;)
AHhhhh big panels, right hand.... small panels, left hand!
:LOL::LOL: that was good. Love the color, you better hope it doesn't need to be scuffed and buffed with all that real estate or Mr Miyagi won't be finished with you!Quote:
“Daniel-San, sand the floor!”
No kidding! I’m not painting the floor; I’m going to use bed liner. Just wanted a decent surface to put it on.
Good choice on the bed liner, the stuff wears like iron and id pretty decent to apply.
.
That looks really nice. Do you have much finger nail left?
Actually sanding the floor wasn’t too bad. Now being on my knees and sanding over my head on the inside of the roof for three hours; I felt every bit of that the next morning.
Painted the inside; I’ll give it a few days to dry and then tape it off to shoot the ceiling.
Wow! That's really blue!!! Looking good!
Ditto nice color and classic too!
Thanks, I actually ordered the wrong paint. I was looking at more of a blue/green and put in the wrong code when I ordered. I was going to return it but the more I looked at it, it kind of grew on me.
That looks very good.
Yes, it does look real good.
Trying to paint the ceiling was just miserable; there’s no way to hold the gun straight to the surface. You’re always at a weird angle and it comes out with overspray streaks. I hope I can hit it with some polish and make it a little better. At least there will be a headliner on the front section to hide some of it.
Yeah, painting over head is a crap show for sure. That vent hole in the cap makes it real fun too. It looks good from here. If anyone doesn't like it, they shouldn't be in it. Haha
True; just have to live with it. Definitely not trying it again.
Next time just get one of those WWE guys to push it over while you stand in a window opening to paint, and have another hold it up.
Lol; that’ll work! What I probably needed was a gun with a separate paint pot but it is what it is. It’s got a headliner for the section above the seats; I can always extend it to the back if it bugs me too bad.
Once I looked at it again, it wasn’t as bad as I thought. I got all the doors hung today. Now that the inside is painted I’m going to work on getting the drivetrain together and back in while my buddy gets the outside ready for primer.
It's looking better already. Are you going to paint the roof white by chance? That thing may even look pretty cool 2 toned!
I’m planning on doing the body blue and painting the grill, bumpers, and wheels white. I saw another one like that but with green instead of blue; it looked pretty cool.
I love that van! I kinda mad at you though because now I'm looking at vans as possible candidates in the future.:LOL:
