Yeah it was stamped on the frame under the original leaf spring support; I found it when I cut the old support off.
Your crusin on the van, it's fun to watch it come together. Nice work.
Thanks, Seth. Trying to keep the momentum going.
I got my spring support finished and mounted today; time to take a break for a few days.
Looking very nice! Most people would have hauled this van to the scrap yard. Good work saving it!
Hey, I just realized you've got all this talent.... and I've got a rusty blue Binder truck... HMmm... remember, resistance is FUTILE!:LOL::LOL::LOL::p
Yes, it is! I tried to stop myself; didn’t work. Thankfully it hasn’t been a ton of money; just time and MIG wire.
Luckily the plans for this one are
"pretty minimal"
Ooohh, that was low. :devil
I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who will save some badly rusted stuff. Props to your perseverance.
If you want to see some ambitious rust repair, this guy's thread will blow your mind.

I remember a documentary I saw about Cuba's car restorers. This guy rather casually states that all the grey panels on this car they dragged out of the woods were replacement panels they made using metal from an old Russian water tower. The ENTIRE shell was grey! They had hand - formed an entire car one panel at a time. Amazing.
