Got the first pass of filler on and started on door #1. Pretty straight on the outside but I’ll have to patch a section on the bottom.

Go Falcon Go! Your the energizer bunny on progress!
Hah! I'll credit my old man for that trait. Hardest working guy I ever saw; laid brick all day and then came home and stayed busy until bedtime. I don't think I saw him sit down and relax until the day he retired.
"...... Plans are pretty minimal for this one; leave it stock, get it mechanically right, and drive it while I do some bodywork on it......."
:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:
All joking aside (although you know those words will keep coming back :D) that is turning into one of the nicest most solid examples I've seen. My hat is off to you folks in rust country.
.
What’s the words to that old John Conley song?
“These rose colored glasses, that I’m looking through, show only the beauty, cause they hide all the truth.”
I think I’m looking through these every time I get a new project!
And now the hard part (for me) comes... Gulp... sanding!:CRY::CRY::CRY::)
Yep, thankfully one of my car buddies is going to give me a hand with that.
Hey, a sanding buddy! That is priceless right there! I will need to locate one of them as well. :LOL:
I'm horrible with mud. I put too much on, then take too much off. Lather rinse repeat. I'm not much better with sheetrock.
Same here; I’m getting decent with metal work but I can’t seem to get filler straight. My friend Kyle did a lot of the work on my 48 so he’s going to help me. He’s restoring his late dad’s 53 Bel air so the trade is i’m going to weld in the patch panels for him.
Two down, four to go.
Thanks, Seth; but there’s a lot of guys more skilled than me on here. I’m just a little obsessive compulsive about getting them finished sometimes.
Doing 6 doors is almost like doing another whole car. Everyone of these things needed some kind of patching and all the bottom door catches were froze up and had bent rods. What a PIA; one more after this one.
