I have been working on this new fuel tank filler neck connector. It easily slips together, completely seals and locks in place. On a lot of cars and trucks it is sometimes difficult at best to get the filler neck to connect to the fuel tank. I am also making this to work with the newer totally enclosed fuel systems. This is in the rough machining stage at this point. So far any one of the three o-rings will hold 100 psi, that is as high as I have tested to date. On this truck I will have the filler behind the left tail light, it will go forward and over the air tank and frame rail to the fuel tank. As you can see in the photos of the tank area, once the truck is complete there would be no way to get to a clamp at the tank. It would be very difficult to have a long neck on the tank and get it in and out of the truck without pulling the floor of the bed up. I will post more photos when I finish this part. I will show how it goes on the tank and connects.IMG_2811-1_zps3figwlti.jpgIMG_2813-1_zpsekv2athr.jpgIMG_2814-1_zpsvyuwosrt.jpg

Sorry for the delay in getting this posted, I had a couple of rush jobs to get finished. Here is the finished filler neck connector. The two set screws have a taper that compress the o-rings and lock the connector together. I will post more pics when I get this welded into the fuel tankIMG_2889-1_zpscotmt9fh.jpgIMG_2896-1_zpsatz3fykz.jpgIMG_2893-1_zpshics5xjz.jpg

I got the fuel tank fittings all welded up this weekend and installed the fuel filler neck connector. The tanks is pressure tested, ready for the finish. I am going to do a bead blast finish on the tank so it will have nice contrast to the black powder frame.IMG_2954-1_zpse4oofhv0.jpgIMG_2949-1_zpsocja1eoj.jpgIMG_2951-1_zpsykxrgyu1.jpg
