58 Chevy Fleetside build
I am building this project for a friend. He purchased a truck that someone had grafted a Camero front clip onto the bottom of the truck frame. He wanted to use what he had so I reworked the frame graft and made it stronger and blended the two different frames together. I would have built a new tube frame. Part of the deal was for me to teach him how to weld and finish, so this made a good project as there was plenty of welding and finishing to be done on this frame. I did not take before pics of the frame as it was so butt ugly I was afraid it would damage the camera..Ha Ha. The first pics are while we are finishing the front of the frame. While we were here we modified the spring pockets for the air ride.
For some reason I can not get all the photos to load...EEERRG

Well lets see if all these pics will load. Well this is not going well. I can not see what loaded to write captions. At this stage of the frame we are getting the rear section all mocked up and the four link ,the rearend with watts link set in place.

Well lets try and get to the rearend. I narrowed a ford 9" for the truck so we could run the size tires and wheels he wanted and keep them within the confines of the stock wheel wells. You can see the lower bag mounts and the fourlink brackets in the process.

Reared almost done, still need to wrap fourlink brackets. Bottom photo: tube ends that I make. The ones with groove are left hand thread. The right hand ones do not have the wrench flats cut yet.

Fitting the LS2 to see what we have to relocate on the motor. All we need to move is the alternator. Bottom photo: Top view of motor mount I made to fit the motor.

Headers built. We are running the exhaust outside the frame and the pipes will exit through the bed side just in front of the rear wheel wells. The exhaust will be run in oval tube from the collectors back.

While we had the body on here is a look at the lowered hight of the truck with its owner. This low and we only lost 2" out of the bed.

Still more lines. In the bottom photo you can see my air exhaust muffler. It reduces the sound of the air release down to 67-70dB. at 10" from the muffler.
