The top looks so nice. That color will pop outside I bet. Plus it isn't an everyday color these days and will stand out.

Yes, I was looking for something different yet had an old style look to it. I love black, but
it's just to hard to keep up! Hope to get it on the frame in the next couple of weeks.
Rich
Thank you, Rich! I'm making note of that color reference!
Roger:
Here's a shot of the label in case you ever need it.
It is called carlton gey by Jag, but it's the same color
as slate grey.

Here's a pic from late 1969, that's my buddy Chuck in the plaid shirt using
man power to lower the body on my Coupe. I'm underneath, my brother is
inside, and my uncle is in the back.

Here we are 48 years later, and my buddy is helping lower the body on my Coupe!
I'm easy on him now, we are using a electric hoist on the body, and Chuck gets to
use a floor jack to slide the chassis around with!

Rich
So after 9 years the body is on the chassis for the final time!

I'm all smiles over here and I've never laid a hand on it! :)
I can only imagine your excitement level. You've done so much hard work and at a level many can only wish for.
Does your buddy also have a hot rod?
Thanks (as always) for the updates and pics!:D
Very cool. I have a buddy from high school who still helps with various vehicles when he is in town!
Yes Mike he has a 57 Chev 2Door Sedan now, back in the time of the photo he had a 34 Ford 5 window Coupe.
I'm lucky Steve, my friend lives about 5 miles from me, We made many NSRA nats trips together in our younger
days.
Very Lucky. I guess I'm Lucky too, I've got three neighbors who are always willing to lend a hand if I need help moving something! When I moved here a year ago I walked my dog everyday and met anyone who was willing to chat. Now I know probably 20% of the people in a 10 block radius. Nice little community here.
Looking pretty sweet ! I see you have your rims painted the same color as the car. Are you going to put on some moonie center caps ?
Seth:
After painting rims, I was not happy with color. I finally found the body color later. I may
paint wheels black. I'm using 40 Ford caps with no trim ring. Page 10 post 148 has a pic.
Thank's, Rich
RichB, I have some questions concerning the roof you installed. I have a 1929 Ford coupe and I'm trying to duplicate your wood roof insert. It's a little trickier but so far so good. Did you add any glue between the oak plywood and the roof rails? The screws are they #4's or #6's? The stain you used, on my computer, looks to be Mahogany. Is that correct?
By the way. That car is looking awesome. I just hope mine comes out looking close to that.
I used #6 screws to hold down the plywood.
I did not glue since you never know when you have
to take things apart, don't think its needed anyway.
The stain is mahogany than cleared with polyurethane.
I did not use pop rivets to hold the aluminum strips
down. I used some small square head screws from
McMaster Carr. As I said, I like to be able to take things
apart. If interested I'll post some info on that. In the
hospital now, but hope to be home soon.
Take care, Rich
