Very nice work! The frame is looking great! Are you going to paint it or have it PC'd?
Made up shock axle brackets, just need to clean case and tig them in place.

Been thinking about axle location, a pan hard won't work correctly with a transverse spring in my opinion so been looking at alternatives, thought about a Mumford set up but it's a bit to complicated for the space I have so decided on a Watts linkage.
First job was to make the centre pivot out of a lump of aluminium bar.

Next some tube was found and threaded inserts made up

A simple bracket was made to start with and then added to as I went

All done

Very nice work! I really like how the center link mount bracket turned out!
What is the tile you used on the floor. Dose it stand up as good as it looks like?
Got the other leg cleaned off and welded in at last, also made up the shock link sleeves, after that popped over to see how brad was getting on with the cab and it's nearly ready for primer.

Very nice and glad to hear the cab is really close! Your shock links and mounts are nicer than most people's suspensions.
Yup! Ryan is right on target. Your detail to work is right up there with the best of them! And no melodrama involved! ;)
Looking good Steve, I'm just getting caught up after being without net for a couple months, you're making some nice progress
Not much to post as got chassis in epoxy primer and it's taking a while to flat back ready for paint but I've done a few bits
first made up a brass adjuster for generator/alternator
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...ps8hdrp4ma.jpg
Got my column back from powder coater, it's all stainless with Torrington races, originally had polished it but decided satin black was more suited and classy

That's going to look great Steve!
Well my replacement main leaves for my front springs arrived from jones. Springs today, only took them 3 days, good company to deal with. They had to be shortened 3'' at the front to bring the shackle inside the front panel, they also made me up a couple of extra intermediate leaves so I can fine tune the front springs

The workshop is now sheeted up ready to paint the chassis, as usual got let down by a mate so my old mate Allan has stepped forward and took a day off on Tuesday to paint it for me, thanks Allan.
funny how mates always turn up when your doing something for them !!! One for the memory bank I think

Okay, I realize I have been out of the sales industry for a few years now and when I was, one of our main product lines was 3M ( Minnesota Mining & Manufacturing ) so I have to ask, is there a fourth "M" added to their name or is that another supplier who is playing on 3M's reputation with the drop sheet ?
Nice work on the temporary booth. That takes some time to get all set up. Nice work. It is a PITA when people back out but sure as heck remember you when they need help. Hopefully your memory bank doesn't get filled up with these.
Started putting a few bits back on tonight and started running brake lines

Got the rest of the brake plumbing finished, just the line to the master cylinder to make when the body goes on.
I put the motor mount on to get it out of the way.

I also managed to save the original 1943 rear bump stops, just because I thought they was cool

Got the 3/8'' gas line in and clipped up, fitted transmount as may need to reinstall motor/trans to check a couple of things

Nice work as usual, Steve. I like the 3/8" soft copper fuel line! I may borrow that idea for the roadster, assuming I get back to it before too many weeks pass me by.... I suppose a guy could even polish it and give it a spray of clear for a bit of bling.
Those '43 bump stops are very cool, too!
Lots of nice little details going on there as usual! ;)
Steve, in post 949, pic 5. That stainless line there. Is the hump to go around a fastener, or some other reason. I'm just curious is all. More very nice work on the truck! It is looking great!
Ryan if you put your mouse curser over that picture and hit your ctrl button and the "plus" button it will blow the picture up to reviel a bolt hole in the frame there. Not sure what it's for! :)
Well the chassis is all wrapped up and put away for the time being as the body came back today 99% done, one of Brads neighbours reported him to the council for working from home so that put a stop to that !!!
I will finish it off myself and get a mate to prime it in my shop.
All the trips to the hospital weren't in vain as I spotted some old hospital beds dumped, I shortened one to use as a dolly for pickup body.
