Yes Dave,has been a trip to the past as I remeber some things I forgot after trying to do it again,ton of fun! These no fiberglass now or then,but have some glazzing puddy to smooth out some rust pits that seem a lot deeper now. Next thing to find or make some how is alternator working and some glass for windsheild. The hotrod piggy bank is really getting low,so my plan 4 a new one wire Alt. is out,I'll need to fig a way of using stock Ford Alt. I have to find a Ford reg for it. I got two old Ford alt. but no regs.
Along with other little stuff on my list,getting closer to a good old time ride around!.

I don't know anything about Ford alternators, but stock internally regulated GM's only require 2 wires. They're easy to wire, cheap, and that's all I've ever used. Sometimes my local junkyard guy will give me one for free! He says nobody buys used alternators or starters...

Just found this thread tonight great fun reading up to date and nice progress!

Ran out of $ for some parts for carb kit/alt. parts/windsheild glass ect.,so working with what I do have around.
This week been working on the inside panels for doors, kick and seat sides. Made some cardboard patterns to work out the right sizes before cutting up the door skin wood I had for other house work. They will be held in after padding is added by some Stainless steel screws and SS cone washers. Still got to deside the color but later.

The woodworking should work out good!!!! But, that ultra-trick new steering wheel really caught my attention!!

Genuine " Visegrip " only I hope for the steering wheel ? I wouldn't like you having an accident due to you having cheap Taiwanese grips doing the hard yards. Thanks for the pictures of your seat base and interior as it is giving me good ideas as to how to tackle my interior when time comes.

For pushing my rod in and out of garage very fast,I'm using that classic steering gear,but could not get the sueaside nob to fit on them!
As for ideas for insides,I did a tech some time ago,when helping my son build his "T";HOME MADE rod seats and panels
My 28A roadster rod is going to be highgloss black body n frame with yellow motor again same as it was,but not all black seats,that was way too hot,trying to deside on colors for seats n panels,thinking 2 colors,maybe black n yellow or brown yellow center panels,what other cobos may work? Think of limiting amount of dark colors so not too hot on my old butt,lite color center panel design with darker outer trim.
Ideas and any photos would help for ideas?

Always like using stuff I have saved when it can look great and not cost anything kind of.
My buddy Rosh was working out at Miami Int. Airport some years back,when they were tairing down one of old artdeco buildings. He saw them trashing out a stainless steel wall and was able to save some of it for me,knowing I love old shiny stuff. This stuff is got dimples made into it,so it looks very industrel kind of like big rivets,very cool looking for the time.
I talked a little about the firewall we did for my son's "T" out of a peace of this stuff also,I'm going to do the same thing to my own and also the back panel that was shiny alum in 1959 but gone bad now. You can see in other old photos in thread the back of rod were the old shiny alum did show. This stainless should be better on both firewall and rear. The photo below shows a cleaned up part of the scrap Rosh got for me years ago from Airport wall,and beside it a cut to fit part for rear of my rod. Holly crap this stuff is hard to cut,used up 5 cut off wheels and two bandsaw blades.
The #2 photo is of the firewall part of the old artdeco stainless inplace as I'm working on it. Now days I think the young guys call it bling!

Looks like you put a rolled edge to it too! What makes it even cooler is the dimple pattern, vs. the more popular diamond plate. Got to love the free stuff whenever you can recycle/reuse it!

the rolled edge dose give a much better finished look,that stainless is so hard it just LOL and flexed my bead roller open,so,here's the small cheat=I used chrome plastic door trim edge insted to same look. Hope I don't get points off for that trick.

That is so cool and makes my plain flat stainless firewall look boring, and as mentioned, excellent price to pay.

thanks ,i'm trying to get the old gal back together with out much $,but I had even less when i did it the first time was lucky to win a few shows with it in the early 1960s,a lot of nice stuff out there now days.

An old racing buddy came by to look at my rod,an offered to make the glass for my windshield,wow,I gave him my 28A roadster frame to take with him and he returned with some glass in it. I know he tryed hard,but it was not fitting right and he bent the frame gitting glass in to it. I saw it but said nothing but WOW thanks and after he left I took it out and fixed the frame,plus got some new 80grit disk for my 4.5in. grinder and very slowly with out getting it hot,ground down about 1/4in. lumps,6 of them tell it fits right now,that took about 4hr. of slow work. These little things are very nice of my feneids to do for me,so no way I'm going to tell him anything but thank you,with out his help,I'd be with out glass for many months saving up $ for it[around $150+ I think} was a free-B,very COOL.
