Yes sir. I have a full time job as a diesel tech at a large shipping company. Last year I worked 354 hours OT which made it really hard to get side work done. And last year was really busy for side work. It's kind of nice to see some light at the end of the tunnel.

I've contemplated a few times of just doing this side business as a full time gig. But the insurance and guaranteed check keep me from doing it. If my wife had a decent paying job with benefits, I'd have done it a while ago. That isn't the case so I work as much as I can to pay for things we need and things I want. Haha

If I would have purchased my steering correction block and studs from Off Road Design, I'd still be driving the 72. Look at their description at the bottom of the page for the D60 steering block and studs. I'm not in the boat by my self it seems.

They say you get what you pay for. I have found out its not worth it to try and save a few bucks cause it cost twice when it brakes. I'm sure we have all been there

For sure. The sad thing is, the pieces I got were more money than the known good stuff from ORD. I think I'll call the guy I built the suburban for and advise him to upgrade his studs before he has an issue too.

I've been trying to get the exhaust set up built for the blue Ford. Now that it is outside, it is hard to get decent weather to work on it. The owner wants stacks and tail pipes. He doesn't/isn't going to buy the correct electric cut outs for it. He has the 3" ones but won't get the correct 5" ones to allow everything to be uniform. So I have to adapt from 5" to 3". It's been such a treat................. But hey, it isn't my truck.

For those of you following along on the truck side of things here......

Between rain showers Saturday, I managed to get the blue ford done. I got the stack contraption all put on, and made some mounts for the upright supports. I welded the base plate, and the new mounting brackets on. Then bolted them to the bed. They aren't rattling or falling out of this thing.

Sorry for the blurry pics. My phone wasn't happy about the drizzle.

I also got the engine breather relocated, and the LH battery hold down made and installed. This thing is done and gone until he comes up with some green backs.

I'll bet you're glad to see that one gone!
Does all that piping and stacks offer any hp gain? Or, just noise and raising the exhaust stream into my windshield???

I know we're hot rodders and we gotta look cool and all but.....

No HP gain at all. It probably hurts it more than helps it due to the 3"-5" garbage. I tried talking him out of it but he had to have these stacks and tail pipes...... Ok....

Nice to close that chapter, to each their own but I never have cared for the stacks out the bed of a pickup thing. Seems like lots of people like it though.

I guess some never haul full sheets of plywood, plus they like to hear their own exhaust.
