According to other projects I've seen online, it's a direct bolt up. the 3.0 Ranger engine shares the same bellhousing pattern as the 3.0 Vulcan (standard Taurus) and the 3.0 and 3.2 Taurus SHO motors. The only difference is the flywheel; 6 bolts for the standard Taurus and 8 for the SHOs. Supposedly you can use either starter.
