Glad you're back, Don.As far as the "tone" of your post, there were a couple of others that were a lot more abrasive than necessary. I would have "fired back" also if put in that position. If you received my personal e-mail you know what I'm talking about. Anyway, we're glad you're here.
As for the center support - It's probably a good idea, but I know of a couple of cars (a T-bucket and a C-Cab) that have been on the road since the late '70s with the Hurst style front mounts and tailshaft mounts on the trannys with no problems...Jim

Don, you are the man,and you and your sons are absolutely brilliant in what you build but also in your manner, and that sir shows through your posts as to the awesome personality you three have .I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Thanks, Jim and Whip, but when I screw up I don't mess around, I do it right.Jim, I didn't get your email, but thanks for the thought.
Dan just got home from work and I talked with him about the center mount, and he agrees it would be easy to fab up one to bolt onto either side of that 3/4 inch thick plate. We are going to look at it tonight, when we go to feed the strays.

Still a good little read.I have often wondered how those mounts would go,being that far apart..but I wont say any more bout that..I think you need to jump on big silver bird, and come down to New Zealand for a few weeks, and freeze ya arse off with us penguins..Exchange rate isnt too bad,,has been better..
Your sons can feed the strays...Sounds like you need a break..

Glad you are "back", Don. I figured you would be and that you just had had a bad day - and none of us have added patience to our virtues as we get a bit longer of tooth. That's one of the reasons I send my wife out to do battle on occasion - she's the trained professional mediator in the family.

Don it looking good. I put some center mounts on mine, I thought the TH350 bell housing was kinda thin. But I did have a 55 Chevy about 35 years ago with a 396 and muncie, aluminum bell housing and no center mounts. Drove the mess outa it and never a problem. Of course young and dumb sometimes you get away with something and didn't even know it.....The way I drive now, that center mount will do nothing except give me some peace of mind.

We can all tell that she is an English lass as she has the same sun tan as Steve. He must of been visiting somebody else's workshop though because I have studied that picture for awhile now and can't see any stainless anywhere.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.
