Steve, when you bolt on the Bendtsens adapter it replaces the spot where the original mounts went, so we will need to make up something similar, but off of that plate. We could have maybe adapted the original Olds rubber mounts, but they sit down pretty low on the bellhousing. I thught of not needing anything at all on the tailshaft of the TH350, but it would leave the entire transmission hanging in space by just the 6 bellhousing bolts. That seems kind of risky, don't you think?

In a stock Olds it hangs off the back and the bell housing is aluminium Don.

Maybe, Steve, but in the setup I had the mount went to a cast in pad on the transmission, and all that went away when I used the Bendtsens adapter. See picture below of where the mounts went originally.

A few nights ago we cut out the rear mounts that will bolt to the Bendtsens adapter plate. Last night I went to the shop and drilled three holes in each one and tapped a 7/16 hole into the adapter to match the two per side that were already there. I thought the holes would be tough to tap because the adapter place is 3/4 inch thick steel, but it really went very easy.

Tonight Dan and I went over and he welded the gusset onto each rear side plate, and we got them mounted on the engine. We also got the mounts welded to the frame, and a simple early Ford bisquit will go between the two parts. I'm really glad you guys talked me into building a center support for the engine, I can see already how much it is going to take the load off of the front mounts and the transmission mount.

Here are a couple pictures from tonight. I don't have one of the frame portion welded on, as we were tired and just wanted to leave.
