Before I invested in a canister I think I'd let it rest a bit to clear any fumes from filling, then do a fitting by fitting sniff test underneath the car. It may not be enough to drip, but enough to stink. To work right the canister collects fumes from fills, temp changes, etc, etc, absorbing into the activated charcoal, then needs a purge solenoid to pull clean air through the charcoal into the engine to keep the charcoal active. A canister alone will lose it's magic without purge, I believe.
The car's looking wicked good, BTW! You've done an amazing job with it from raw materials to a fantastic period gasser.Roger
Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
