    Don't forget the pictures.
I will post the pics shortly, unfortunately it poured with rain on the way there and a fair few people didn't turn up I'm afraid, I felt really sorry for Shaun the organiser as he really tried to make it a good event.
I won an award for the willys too
We all still had a grand time though.

I took the willys to the Blackpool Rod & Custom show last weekend, this is the first one to be put on in 28 years, hopefully it will be on again next year and grow.

Had been really looking forward to this show as it was a indoor show and havn't done one for years.

We loaded the willys thursday evening (thanks Jason) and set off at 10am friday morning, The M1 was clear and we got to the M6 tollroad services (110miles) 2 hrs later, where we met up with Gary Layton, Larry Ward & the Smoke city guys, Unfortunately the next 130 odd miles was stop/start and raining thanks to the good old M6 this took us a further 4.5 hrs

Shaun guided us in by phone as the post code was incorrect, it was raining hard so it was very handy that we could drive straight into the main hall and unload the cars in the dry the hall was teeming with people setting up and the organisation really good, the marshalls were really helpfull and nothing was too much trouble.

Once all setup we ventured off to the local Pizzaria for some food and a tour of the famous Blackpool illuminations, they were very impressive !!! and the Smoke city wheeler guys went looking for a local titty bar

Saturday morning we were pleased to see a small quee outside of people waiting to enter, a good sign i thought

The first thing on entering was the very impressive dome in the roof.

There were also various attractions outside on the way in.

From there we wandered by the theatre, very impressive, the inside was lovely but not allowed any pics

    The foyer

On approaching the show you picked up your tickets at the ticket office and then got them checked my the peanut smugglers

The hall quickly filled up with a fair few people and was fairly constant all day.

Here are some of the cars displayed

The daytime entertainment came in the shape of a 3 piece band belting out some great stuff most of the day.

And one of the main man Shaun

Saturday evening after the show closed Shaun had organised a Double decker bus to pickup all the exhibitors from the show and take them on a tour of the illuminations etc etc, on returning everyone was directed upstairs to a room Shaun had set aside with a very good band, disco and resonable bar, everyone got their first drink free which was anice gesture.

All in all i think it was a success, its a shame that Shaun was let down by so many as it could of been even better and obviously Shaun will have learn't from some mistakes.

The only gripe i could think of was the ropes around the cars made it difficult to get good photo's but this will be addressed next year i'm sure.

I for one will look forward to hopefully attending next years show as i'm quite convinced it will be another cracker !!!

I would also like the thank Shaun, Andy and the various helpers for giving us all such an enjoyable weekend, cheers.

Thanks Steve, looks like along with a great show with some first rate cars there was lots of worthwhile sightseeing as well! All in all a really first rate affair!

Thanks for posting the photos, Steve! I appreciated the leading shots of the facility, which is a beautiful old building with impressive architecture! There were first rate cars covering a wide time period, and the Willy's fit in perfectly. One question - what's the newer silver two door hardtop in the picture right after the gold F100 truck? Nicely done, but I don't recognize the body lines.

Great pictures if it wasn't for the plates it could have been a show here in the US. Pictures with ropes we used to drop them if we were asked. Lots of times the end caps would just have stantions. Looks like a fun show

Ditto above comments, and like to add the Savage was a cool addition.

That ain't a Savage mate, Savages were built on 2 door shells only.

The Yellow Capri beside the silver one is a stock roof height one so you can compare how much work has gone into slicing the roof, amazing job. The Savage is actually a Mk1 Ford Cortina from the early '60's and has some awesome airbrush work on the hood. I do like the gold '32 Ford truck that has a nice channel job on it. Thanks so much for the photo's too and heck, you remembered that I'm a leg person. I would of gladly handed my ticket over to either of those gorgeous ladies in pink too plus anything else they may of wanted.

Gotta add to this..I have never seen the Savage name on a Mk 1 Cortina,,,ever..I only ever recall the name being introduced in the Mk 2 Cortina,,as the company who did the original V6 conversion,on the Mk 2..But its good to see there are still a few Mk1's left up there,Steve..Love the work thats gone into the Capri,also..Really improves the appearance..And I like the fender treatment on the mello yello Capri,too..Nice pix, nice cars..Ta very much,Steve..

There were Mk1's Robin, they were the first and original Savage, There were also Mk3's and other stuff like Escorts with V6's like the Navajo.
Jeff Uren who made the Savage used to be just 3 miles from my house.
The reason Jeff never used 4 door shells was that they had too much twist in the shells, I had a few over the years.

Wow! That silver Capri is sexy looking! Hard to imagine that started as what we knew in the States as a Mercury Capri, made by Ford UK and captive imported by Mercury. Someone has a very good eye to see that beauty wrapped in the stock sheet metal.
