Nice work..........really nice work. That medium grey drop shadow makes it pop.
Did he use a pounce wheel to perforate the paper or does he have some other device?

Weather has been pretty good so another productive day, mostly down to tidying up the little things now.

I cleaned up the aluminium tunnel and glued down some carpet so i could fit my throttle pedal.

I had already set it all up a few months ago on the bench to check it worked ok so it was a pretty straight forward job to fit, Its all fully adjustable and is a Speedway pedal and Speedway bell crank and the rest is home brewed, I was gonna make a bellcrank but the Speedway one is pretty good and works well and is infinitly adjustable plus it was only 15 bucks, not worth making one !!! I made an adjustable stop for the pedal reurn as well.

Next I needed a cable, had a rummage through my box and found some Lokar parts, Fitted them together but because my firewall is 1" thick it didn't have enough thread, 5 minutes in the lathe sorted it out, I also turned the nut into a barrel nut which enabled it to thread together.

I hate the braided look so will put some black heat shrink tube on it,

Well not too much to report due to small bits not here yet from the states, I'm taking the car to the Blackpool indoor show at the weekend and the storm in the states has caused havoc with my parts order as my shippers are in New York and the storm is about to hit

Anyway i've made few changes and one of them was to get rid of the plexiglass screen, the more i thought about the more it seemed to make sense to have a laminated glass screen as this will see a lot of street duty. I'm not sure of the name of the company who cut the screen for me otherwise i would give them a big plug as they made a superb job of it, I supplied them through my mate Gary a plywood template, the edges have been completely polished smooth, just a quality job.

I bonded the glass in and because it was cold the adhesive took a while to cure so a couple of clamps were employed to hold it in place.

I always intended to have a trim around the windscreen that looked like a stock type rubber so I cut a piece of 1/8" ply to shape and then encapsulated it in fibreglass resin to seal it, then it was built to a rough shape with mat & resin, then sanded to shape and a couple of coats of satin black epoxy primer was applied, its still a little shinnier than the look of rubber but it will do for now, i'm gonna try matt black on it later.

Here it is just laid in place but you get the idea. hopefully it won't take long to bond it on tomorrow as its not supposed to rain

I also got my modified pitman arm back from the chromeshop so I have steering at last

While I had the draglink off I changed the trackrod end for a stainless one. I will chrome the steering arm once I confirm everything ratiowise works ok.

All my prop parts arrived ok so a mate picked me up a piece of CDS tube for me but when i started to put it together I noticed a small problem with the tube Need to get another bit I think

Looking very good, Steve! I think you made a good call on the windscreen with the bonded glass for safety. The car's really coming together well - too bad you got a bad stick of tube. That seems strange for drawn tubing.

Thanks Roger, the company changed the tube for me but its a bit late in the day to be making the prop now, Probably no one will notice anyway

When has THAT ever stopped you, the King of Stainless Bling!

We had a small gathering of the faithful here and figured you've even made your own stainless underwear!! (Hmmm, that might be taken several ways eh?)
