Super clean. One day I may lay a bead like that, but it will likely only be once....

Enjoy the little things in life, and you may look back one day and realize that they were really the BIG things.

Well the last few evening have been quite exhausting !!!
Seeing as this is a street car also I needed a full exhaust system so I picked up a pair of 2.5" bore Smithy mufflers, I decided against running the system under the car and have gne with a under sill mounted system which exits just in front of the rear wheels.
Firstly I made up some brackets that would take cotton reel rubber mounts in compression that would bolt to the floor.

Next a mount was made and welded to the muffler on each end.

Gaskets were made in Reinz heatproof gasket material

Then the complete muffler/bracket was bolted through the floor.
Next a stainless tail pipe was made from a 45 degree bend and some straight tube, the end was slash cut and looks just right.
Next some more stainless bends were cut and welded to hook into the header collector, this section is painted black VHT as i don't want it to show.

.Its aweful lonesome in the saddle since my horse died.

Me too Roger, me too, talk about being a magnificent welder, and heck doesn't that firewall look excellent and remember guys what Steve told us at the start...... he wanted the car to look as if it had been thrown together in the early 60's for the drag strip..... yeah right eh.......LOL.I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

Very nice and I believe that looks better then running a full exhaust system under the car as as you pointed out,it is a race car that will have some street duties and those pipes and mufflers would of been the sort of thing a guy would of done to keep the car simply. I approve sir.

I maybe a little crazy but it stops me going insane.

The exhaust and down tubes look good on the car, Steve. Definitely fit in the vintage of the build!Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, Live for Today!

My 292 came out of the F100,,still lyin on the garage floor,,waiting for re birth..That wont happen until a few other things are done..Have a good ol'Mk3 Zephyr box adapted to the bellhousing, with floor shift to go up its butt..Will go looking at some tips from a Y block guru in NZ,and a few tips from John Mummert and Tim McMaster to build what I what..Would love some genuine T-Bird covers,,but will probably use locally cast bits from Ace..the same guy who helped put the little hemi intake out there..Yes,Peter Williamsons jobbie, that your mate has up there,Steve.Micah 6:8
