contrary to what seems to be popular beliefe, all 351s are small blocks. you just want to know if its a Cleveland or a Windsor ( both small blocks), regardless, an easy way to tell is Windsors have 6 bolts holding each valve cover on. Clevelands have 875 GMC C-15 factory 454, automatic, lowered
