I think Chevy killed the 302 because of power and drivability. It was only rated at 290 and you had to twist it to get that. A 70 1/2 Z28, now there's a Camero. I'd take one of those over a 67-8-9 any day.

I think the bigesst issue between sbc and sbf has always been heads. ford just can't get their head out of their posterior and make some heads that will flow like chevys. That from a Ford guy.
