351W Exhaust bolts go into water jacket?

...or is the cylinder head cracked?

I've got water seeping out the exhaust manifold bolt closest to firewall on passenger side.

The head would be the same as the 289 -302 head.
I would think the head is cracked, I don't remember
the head bolts going in to the water jacket.
If it is cracked though don't get mad, go get some
early 289 -302 heads and up the compression for
more HP. Say about 1966-67 closed chambered.
Look for the raised letters C6 or C7 It will have some
numbers or letters after that but it will start with these.
C is for the sixty's decade and the number is for that
year in the sixty's. Oh and the valve is a little smaller
but the HP increase is well worth it. And this will improve
the fuel millage. I have done this before but it's been some
time ago. And you can allways have bigger valves installed
    too. Kurt

I'd try some thread seal on the bolt before looking for another set of heads. The factory put studs in the end holes on some SBF heads, maybe this is why?

    Kurt,
If it were mine, that would be the route to go. The owner is extrmely budget minded for now so if he can bandaid or get around the problem, that's the route he'll go.

I'll pull the bolt and see what spills out. If nothing, I'll try to seal it. I'll post the results when I get some.

    Thanks.
