New here so dont know this has been cover, but I dont have an interchnage book and all the other forums no one can tell me how to identify a 302 versus a 351w motor.
I purchase a motor from ebay that was described as a 302, my brother in-law thinks that it may be a 351 due to the deck height.

So without taking the engine apart is there any definitive way to tell if it is a 351 or a 302?

The firing order is for a 351 and the lifter valley has 351 ccp 15 cast in it at the front of the valley.

the casting numbers say the block is from 79 and was intended for a galaxie.

I think the intake manifold measures 11.5 inches wide.
