Thesals,
Please don't take this wrong, I just hate to see someone do extra work. Please do more checking. If yours is a pre 80 302 you can't just put a post 80 flywheel & balancer on it. In 80 Ford lightened the crank & added weight to the balancer & flywheel. This give an overall lighter rotating assembly, ie more horsepower. The cranks are different. There are quite a few Ford facts I'm fuzzy on, but I learned this one the hard way. In the late 80's I put a 71 302 in an 82 5.0 Mustang. I used the factory flywheel and the 71 balancer. It shook bad at an idle, so I put the 82 balancer on it thinking that it had to match the flywheel. I still shook. Finally someone told me about the balance change, I put a flywheel from a 79 Stang on with the 71 balancer. Smooth as silk.
