    Yeah...this is why I asked the question to begin with. It has 1 large post for the POS and one small (tiny) post for the ground. By performing a continuity test as well as digging into the starter a little...the small post looks to be a ground.

    So it seems it is a bad starter. Although it is strange that a brand new starter will fail, I cant explain why it will not suck the plunger down and push voltage across to the other side. And by the way, the voltage is 12.72v.

    So are you saying without the ignition bypass connected to the starter, it wont engage? I assume once the ignition bypass has 12v, it would cause the plunger to engage. Correct?

    Everything else is connected as your illustration shows except for the ignition bypass.
