    Thanks guys,

    Check on the fuel pressure regulator, I'm sitting right under 3 PSI. I unhooked the throttle cable and noted no change in RPM.

    Thanks for the link, I've got some reading to do.

    Well after doing some reading I came across a sentence on the Stromberg site warning of pushing the throttle arm onto the carb too far resulting in binding. So I checked mine and it was right up against the "step" of the throttle rod. I backed it off and my RPM dropped, not only dropped but I was able to adjust it.

    Kinda feel stupid for starting a thread for this but alas I appreciate the help. On to the next issue ;-)
