I found the book on Borders website for $14.95 and I would assume it's available at other book stores.
From what you have posted it seems to me that your carb needs a complete rebuild and I'd stress boiling it out and make sure all the passages are clean and clear of any crud. As has been suggested earlier that carb could be too small for your application and IMHO it's also the wrong carb. DP's and automatic trannies on the street don't work well together, it's too hard to control the secondary tip in. If it were mine I'd opt for an 850 vacuum secondary Holley as I'm not a huge fan of Carter/ Edlebrock.

I totally agree with you ,Pat. If he was closer to you, you'd had that thing running like a stripped a** ape a month ago.

Ok so I guess after reading your guys post an thank you very much im gonna scrap this carb. its just a shame its a fairly expensive piece of equipment. so you guys would say go larger on the carb?how do you guys feel about edelbrock carbs. I'v been trying to find a Q jet at the local junk yards but everyone crushed everything back when scrap metal was so high in price. so I cant find one at a junk yard I hate buying crap off ebay. So the quest now begins I need a carb.

would there be a difrence between a quadrajet that came off a 454 or a 350? Qjets seem pretty inexpensive.

what would the difrence be between the 750 double pumper that I already have an the 750 thats not a double pumper. the street avenger is larger so that would make more sence to me.

All DP's are mechanical secondary carbs and they just don't work well with an automatic tranny on the street. A 750cfm carb will work on your engine, but IMHO an 850cfm would be easier to tune. A Qjet, set up properly and designed for your application, will yield better gas mileage.

Ok so im gonna go an get a qaudrajet. seems like everyone locally has either said to me to keep my carb or get a quardrajet. I do hope that it will help my cars proformance out cause its not proforming up to its potential. I def can tell that. its just not were it should be,. an 7 8 Mpg would be better then 4 5Now I got to find a decent quadrajet.

a Q jet would help the MPG but maybe hard to find a good one or core to rebuild. there not hard to rebuild there is guys that will sell you a rebuilt one BUT if you did not go that way a carter or eldelbrock 750/800 cfm would do fine for your rpm . you get it 1/2 running rigth your hands will be full or your pants did you ever run it with out the air cleaner? the air horns are not getting shut off? from the top lid?

Also be aware that a Qjet requires a spread bore manifold.

I have never really ran the motor with out the air breather on it but its not obstructing anything.

What is a spread bore manifold so I would have to buy a new intake that kinda sucks I already have a edelbrock. my be I'll just get a edelbrock. cause the holley just doesnt make me crap my pants. it should have alot more in it then it does so I dont know. Ive been kinda disapointed with the car. Im hoping that a new carb will fix the problem.

    Can you say "money pit?"

If I were you, I'd try to make your current setup work reasonably well. What if you buy a new carb, throw it on and NO difference, then what?

If there is a problem beyond the carb a new one won't fix it, but I agree it is an easy fix but hoping things work themselves out and get better is only that, hope.

I'd try new plugs before a new carb, you'd be surprised what a difference the right plugs can make, and it's only a $20 risk.

Best of luck, looks like a unique ride for sure!

I, personally, would borrow a carb for a day to see if that's really the problem. even if it's a little to big or small for the application it would still tell you if that's really the problem or not.
