we ckecked the timing and its was fine. 13 initial and 36 total.
heads are vortec off a pickup
we can check the cam but its not consistant enough to be that. it only happens when im cruising, not under acceleration.

I BET YOU GOT THE 992 VORTEC HEADS,THEY ARE THE BEST FLOWING HEADS FROM THE FACTORY,, POPPING NOISE ,,GENERALLY COMES FROM THE VALVES,IF YOU GOT IT IN PARK AND SLOWLY REV IT UP..WHAT HAPPENS?

I HAve WORKED ON MANY CHEVY SMALL BLOCKS.
