Smaller would be better IMHO.. Use the finest micron size. We used to attach the magnets to the oil filter casing. Then when you remove the filter for replacement, you toss the collected particles also, not leave them in the base pan. FWIW..

What is available for oils there? Do you have a break in oil available?
