I've been a GM ,mostly chevy man all my life, but I have to give chrysler and sometimes as bad as it hurts me,ford credit every now and then. I also remember articles where a 340 chrysler just flogged 350 chevys and 351 fords.Remember a 318 is to a 340 what a 327 is to a 350. It may be one of the most underrated motors ever.Although I have never built a chrysler motor I have been tempted to try it. When GM and Ford were not promoting racing at all Chrysler was publishing a mopar direct connection racing manual. It would tell you which Chrysler fit in which class the best, how to build it ,how to race it and which parts ro use with what. It would also tell you which K frames were interchangable. It may be the only thing that kept Chrysler going.During the 70s and early 80s I was a manager for the most successful Gm chain of franchises in the nation. We had the most successful car on the market, Cutless Supreme. Chrysler struggled. Now there is no Cutlass Supreme, Heck! there is no more Oldsmobile. Chrysler has done pretty good,GO FIGURE!
