Ideally on the rear wheels, the axle would be centered in the wheel to minimize wear on the wheel bearings.... In a drag car, don't think it's a real big deal what backspace you run as it's not going to get a lot of miles on it anyway. Worn out wheel bearings from uneven loading will be the least of your parts breakage problems when drag racing!!!!!
