No, there's a lot of cheaper alternatives. I will (hopefully) be putting out about 625 ft. lbs of torque, anything less then the best in a tranny is just going to disintegrate.

Next motor, after a season with the engine I'm putting together now, will be a 514 with a BDS 10 71 Blower. These trannies are all rated for torque in excess of 1,000 ft. lbs. A big inch motor with a blower can exceed 900 ft lbs. torque. No use buying a less expensive trans now, then next year buy the good one....... Well, at least it makes sense to me !!!!!!!!
