Mickey Thompson's
Hey everyone! I was wondering if anyone has had any experience they could share with mickey thompson tires. I have a gift cert. for them but not sure which ones to use. I have a 66 lemans with a 496 BBC in it. It is a street/strip car, mostly used for street racing. I was wondering what the best ones to get for a nice mix of wear life and the ability to hook up. If any one could offer me some advice I would appreciate it. Thanks and Happy New Year!

Most MT tires are bias ply. Don't mix them with radial fronts.
I ran MT Sportsman tires on my 68 GTO, and on a 72 Chev BBC Pickup. They worked well.
MT makes good tires.Jack

hoosiers are a radial and may be more street friendly especially when it rains

You got that right. Wide Mickeys in the rain are just slightly better than slicks. If you hit the wheel tracks full of water on the interstate during a heavy rain with those big wide Mickeys, hang on. Been there . . .Jack

I am a big fan of Mickey Thompsons. I personaly like the Indy Profile SS's. I think they would be good on a street/strip car. Has anyone else had any experience with them?

I have the smallest sportsmans the make . They are tubeless. They have been on the car for five years. I've had no real problems in the rain You just have to slow down a wee bit. Carlg

that rwhp not flywheel
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
