New Roadster

After building over 50 32 roadsters in my time, I thought it was time to build my final 1 for my self. With the passing of my wife I thought I'd do it in a tribue to her. This was her all time favorite (mine as well) and most other of my Hot Rod world of friends agree it was my best. (So did the guy who bought it @ Barrett/Jackson)
Have been ordering parts for the last few days and they are already startin 2 show up.
The Big brown truck Fed ex and USPS have been busy here in OKieland.
This is what I'm cloning.
Target date for completion is June 1st, then a few shake down miles and off to the "6th Annual Great Greybeard Adventure"
Destination this year is the "Hot Rod Reunion" in Bowling Green Ky, the 3 weekend of June

As long as I'm satisfied with it.

Too many caught up in the glass vs steel issue that will never own 1 anyway. About 40% of the 1's I have built have been steel and of those about 50% original Henry steel not Brookville which is a repop just like a glass car

Most can't tell the difference if it's a quality body unless they start tappin on it and if they do that I'll start tappin on them.

yeah we all know how pastures are just full of steel deuces . i would rather have a nice glass body as opposed to a patched up rust bucket . a nice orig body will cost more than a build in glass.

Identical to it right down to nuts and bolts.
Pulled the file on it and duplicated the parts list exactly.
Only this time I will also have a set of Steelies for it also

You certainly chose a good one to go after.
Now, I just have to start a petition for you not to sell the 40 delivery. You have to admit
they would make a great pair. Have you been using it lately?

Hey Shine, I have heard of you sort of blokes, those old cars down that back fence line is so full of buckshot holes now even the birds don't have trouble flying through them so I will run the bulldozer over next week and flatten them down so I can put all those '40 Coupes I found up there for target practice. And Obama wants all your guns, yeah right.

Good to see you back so soon Don and that you have a plan in mind to ease the pain of your lovely wife passing that will be in honour of her memory. I too will be keen to follow along on another of your exceptional builds.

Bare rails and bolt everything on. Starting with new has it's advantages for sure. No rust, grease, etc. Are you going to improve anything that you weren't in love with the 1st go around Don?

Heck, sitting side by side like that really gives the meaning of " Big'n Little's " . How tall are the rears and what ratio will the Diff have Don ? Good highway galloping speed @ low RPM I would think.

32 1/2 " tall, will B runnin a 2:79 gear behind a 350 turbo. Won't be a dog either, motor being built will have an honest 365/375 HP with plenty of torque and bottom end. Math tells me @ 75 will B twisted around 2150 RPM

No body and chassis yet, but why waste time, started paintin sum of the parts. Will make the process much faster once the body and chassis are sittin here

Your so right Dave, Most who build don't have a clue where they are goin. They look @ cars @ shows, in rags(magazines) etc and pull ideas of to many different cars and try to blend them. IT DON'T WORK THAT WAY. Ya gotta know what the finished product is gonna look like B4 ya even start. I've been fortunate enuf to be @ this game for goin on 50 years and have built my fair share of 32's. So doin my final is gonna B a piece of cake. Also having the funds to buy all the neccesary parts in 1 shot helps also. Sure wish I had a body and chassis sittin here, I'd be on it like stink on cow doo doo. June 1st is gonna B here B4 I know it. Wanna take it to Bowling Green. Are you and Cathy gonna try and make it there/ Would enjoy seein ya again..

The valve cover were a lot of work, had to shorten em length wise 7/8 " on each end, the build billet adapters to bolt em to SBC head. about 30 hrs invested less the paint work.

Still not certain on Bowling Green, work is bad at that time.............but if all goes well I will drop in on Saturday after going to the Duncan Hot Rod Swap meet............... :)

Tires are 345/55 -17 BFG's not available any more and wheels I had custom built by a buddy of mine in California. 17 x 11's total 1 off set.
