Bummer. Guess I'll have to stick to the mastercraft 265/75-15 I've got. They are almost 31" tall so close enough. I'm subscribed so I'll be watching this build. Thanks for posting.

Love the 10-spoke and 5-spoke wheels on the previous page in post #25. Also like the stance of that car. After scratch-building 20+ frames and chassis over the last 48 years (T-buckets, C-Cabs, Model-A's, '48 Anglia), I am finally building my first Deuce. Have really enjoyed your threads; you put 'em together quick! My last complete build took me a few years...
Nice! You really have the stance nailed on these. I am just now starting my first Deuce build. I've built lots of T-buckets, C-Cabs, and Model-A's, but never a Deuce, so I've been browsing your build threads. I may pester you with some questions later on; I hope that's OK.
Got the gauge panel ready.
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don, you need to put your "touch" on the center portion around the speedo. It's a nice looking piece, just needs a little more "something" to move it up a notch. Something like a brush polish, or a vintage badge, or airbrush high lighting...........a character enhancement of some sort. Maybe an engraved tribute to Ms. Mary, or something of hers that brings a smile to your face attached below the speedo..................just my brain churning...
UPDATELeft Sunday am to go get roller, returned Monday afternoon. Body work DONE, tail lights pre-fitted, cowl vent now working,Gas tank fitted, doors and dash removed and blocked, prepped and painted. This 1 will go real smuuuuuuuth.
I was wondering about you Don. We had not heard anything from you and that is unusual because when you are in the middle of a project, you just keep right on doing stuff that most of us only wish we could. Glad to hear from you. Now, the parts will fly!
Man, I love 40's-nice Truck!
Who built the body and chassis? I like the recessed stock type firewall
Well you enjoy your short break away at the NSRA meeting Don and I'm sure the '40 will look absolutely stunning with your improvements. The roadster is coming together well to and I look forward to more updates as you go.
Update We have separation. It's in the booth, gonna slam sum color on it 2day
1 1/2 hr color on (1 coat sealer, 5 coats S.S. Urethane) Flowed out like glass ( no stinkin buffin needed)
See everybody, purchase a quality body from a known manufacturer results in minimal bodywork before brushing the paint on, aye Don. Very nice..
yesterday I was at Menard's to get some sample paint for trim on Grandma s house and wanted a couple throw away brushes so I wouldn't have to but thinner/solvent just to clean a brush-
Man those paint brushes are getting expensive--------
If you're just going to throw them away I don't think you can beat HF
4 Piece Paint Brush Set with Wood Handles
You might want to try them new-fangled foam brushes, too. They don't have any bristles to break off and don't leave brush strokes as bad...:LOL::LOL:
Old Crow II should be on the road by mid May.............................looking good my friend, now fill out that application for a passport, so it can show up in my driveway this summer! Or get an enhanced driver's license, that too will work.......
Chassis painted, outta have it bolted 2gether by end of next week.
Do you use the same paint on the frame or something harder to take any knocks ?
Chassis back 2gether
The speed of your progress amazes me.
just flying along!
Decided to but a nib and a buff to it anyway.
A little 2000,3000,4000 and sum wheel time and it's a piece of glass
Well Don, it is a keeper and a dedication to your late wife Mary Ann, so the extra bit of work that you put into the car is showing the love that you had / have for your wife, may she rest in peace. Keep on with the excellent work my friend, we are all watching and thinking of you on this particular journey .
My good buddy and trimmer came over this morning and in less than 5 hrs we now have an almost car. Should B ready for the guts end of next week.
Gettin closer, lotsa little stuff done 2dat
Wow! Great progress Don! If I could only have you working on my Car it'd be done in a week!
Looks fantastic, and I can't wait to see it done-
Hey Don, what brand are those valve covers? I noticed they were on the first car but was expecting to see the Cad covers and air cleaner on this one. Or are you just going to swap at your whim?
They are a very rare set of Induction Engineering (Moroso) covers Ray. Was told by the man his self ,Bob Moroso, that only about 25 sets were built back in the day. Have had them for over 30 years and on many cars. Will swap out with the Cad covers as you says on a whim.
