Ntfday , not sure. But this cam says "Fair idle, low midrange torque/horsepower, works well in 327 and higher c.i.d. engines. Largest camshaft with stock converter." Is this saying it has low horsepower and torque or is it saying that low and midrange is where peak horsepower and torque is?

I was not commenting on your cam choice but your electric fuel pump. Holley's can withstand a bit more fuel pressure than an Eddy but not much over 5psi. Too much fuel pressure can blow the needle off the seat causing a flooded condition which amongst other things is quite a fire hazard.

Oh yes, I knew what you meant lol. But thank you for telling me ab the fuel pressure. I'll make sure not to go over 5 psi. Do you have any cam suggestions for me?

Don't take offense. They're just trying to help you get the best bang for your buck and help you have a more enjoyable experience with your car. Good luck with it.

Sorry, I do not. I leave that up to some one who knows more than I do such as techinspector1. FWIW, tech has been doing this since we were in high school in the late 50's.

One of the reasons he's so reluctant is because of the break-in required for a non roller engine. It's extremely critical for a flat tappet cam to keep from wiping lobes which then entails tearing the engine back down and cleaning up the mess. Also today's pump gas will not support high compression ratios which are required to run high lift wild cams. They'll still run, just be dogs and that's the main reason why he's suggesting an LS engine. I suggest you go here, http://www.crankshaftcoalition.com/w...Coalition_Wiki and read up on relevant articles.

Ok shine, how am I trolling? I started this thread to simply get advice on a cam for a small block 350 I'm going to build. And since you've been no help whatsoever you can leave my thread. And the parts I'm going to get cost $688 which I'm sure will have me at just about 300hp if not more.

NTFDAY , I get that. But I wish he would just understand I want advice for gen 1 350 and not ls. But o'well I have a cam picked out now. It's the summit K00172 , listened to videos of it on YouTube and it has a nice thumpy sound. Reviews say it has grest throttle response and power output. Think it'll work great for my setup
