    i'm just considering it over a junkyard block simply because of the "new" feeling of it. there's just not a good machine shop for 100 miles and i don't want to drive that far with a "possible" block. Rather just go to get it honed to my pistons, etc.

    Looking at a 355 though for that nissan, your 383 build was nice, but then realized i didn't need anywhere near that much power...400hp will make me happy at the crank. looking at edelbrock/dart alum heads 2.02/1.60 185cc runners on shp block with roller hydraulic cam and dual plane with a 650cfm. 400hp worthy?
